A two vehicle accident claimed the life of a 15 year old Amber Nicole Morris and left  two injured as the result of a collision between a white four door Kia  and a Ford Explorer on Cherry Hill Road. Witnesses stated the white  Kia had been seen passing on double yellow lines in a curve and  speeding just before the accident.

The driver of the Kia, Vernon Dale  Wheeler, Jr. was transported by helicopter to Birmingham and the driver of the Ford, Mandy Gilliam was taken to the Russellville Hospital and later transferred to a Huntsville hospital for surgery on her leg and arm.
